Responsible for her friend's death, Lieutenant Caslin Ahn wants nothing more than to be left alone. She no longer deserves the company of comrades or the fulfillment she felt as a Wolf Squadron fighter pilot. But a summons from the king leaves her with no choice but to rejoin her teammates. An ancient evil has been unleashed, bringing death and destruction to the nation, and they are the only ones with a chance of stopping it.

Dragon Blood Book Six brings back Cas, Tolemek, Ridge, Sardelle, Kaika, and Tylie, as well as her dragon, for a new epic fantasy adventure.

Raptor Dragon Blood Book 6 (Audible Audio Edition) Lindsay Buroker Caitlin Davies Podium Publishing Books

This is, without a doubt, the BEST Dragon Blood installment yet! I am completely breathless, a thrill ride from start to finish - beyond the end even, because based on that ending, this adventure has just begun. And there is no one that I trust more to deliver the best ending to this series than Lindsay Buroker.

One thing that has become crystal clear while reading this series is the fine line that an author walks between making situations either overly serious or overly humorous. From the start I have loved the humor and wit that Buroker infuses into her characters, but not once has it taken precedence over just how serious her plotline is, that her charcters are fighting for not only their lives but a whole country's while they fight a war. It is so easy for humor to take away from that, and on the flip side for an extremely serious situation to drain the personality from the characters. NOT THE CASE HERE! Buroker walks that line like a pro, and that is what makes this series so wonderful. Her characters are so rich and so vibrant and brimming with personality that my heart can't take how much I love them.

If you are a fan of fantasy, do what is good for you and READ THIS SERIES!

Raptor Dragon Blood Book 6 (Audible Audio Edition) Lindsay Buroker Caitlin Davies Podium Publishing Books Reviews

Raptor and Soulblade together make a definite five-star series ender. After adequate but somewhat lacklustre middle books, the series bounces back with this complex but intriguing book. As mentioned, Raptor ends in a cliffhanger, but more than that, various story arcs and threads are set up here and brought together and completed in Soulblade, which is why I'd recommend thinking of them as a two-part book. I was one of those who chose to wait for the last one and read them together - a very good idea!

Raptor fleshes out Phel and Tylie, checks in with Cas and Tolemek, further develops General Ort and Colonel Therrik, doesn't forget Ridge and Sardelle, re-introduces Pimples and Wolf Squadron, and even includes a cameo appearance by Cas' assassin father. Add to that more dragons, magical swords, a return to the Magroth Crystal Mines, where it all began... and you have an excellent page-turner.

And more dragons! More dragons are always a plus, and these are all good value, both here and later in Soulblade.
I really liked this book as well, BUT I have to say that I grew quite tired of Cas's whining and self-pity. I understand that she feels bad for a friend's death and it's not something one gets over very easily, but I wished that she had put on her big girl socks a lot sooner. Although, her insecurities did give us a great LOTR moment 14% that made me giggle like a lunatic so it's not all bad.

I love the addition of dragons and while Phel seems way too closed off and stuck on Tylie for some odd reason, I loved this story's bad guy Mor. (His name is actually longer but I'm lazy and can't bother to look up the right spelling of his tricky name.) I also hope that Sardelle and Jaxi will find out more about dragons in the final installation as these mysterious creatures no-one had seen in a thousand years are definitely something I wish to learn more about.

This book was also the first that gave us more than two POVs (I guess I got what I wanted) and to my utmost surprise I actually prefer only 2 POVs to all four ... Maybe I would've liked it better if Buroker had added Kaika's POV to the others.

Also, WHAT KIND OF AN ENDING WAS THAT??? I NEED THE NEXT BOOK NOW!
I'm not an avid reader, But I decided to check this series out, and got hooked. Lindsay keeps me laughing and amused with anticipation of what is going to happen next in the plot. Raptor book 6 Left me wanting more. So I grabbed my tablet looked on kindle and found she has another book coming out in December so I preordered it right away. Can not wait to see what happens next. I did see however that this next book may be the final installment of this series I hope not though because I love reading about the adventures Sardelle, cas, Deathmaker, jaxi, & Ridgewalker and many more characters that are in her series of books. Lindsay has made me want to read again and that says a lot to me and the people around me. Some of my friends are even now interested in the story and have borrowed my books. lol

Thank you Lindsay for your great story telling. )
I want to give this 4 stars, but find I can't for one simple reason. Caslin AKA Raptor is still far too distraught over the death of one of her squadron mates. Yes, she was holding the sword that killed him, but the sword was magical and had been able to completely control her body during the fight that eventually resulted in the death of Apex. Yet, despite multiple people telling her that it wasn't her fault.....

It made it a bit hard for me to care about her. the rest of this tale also had a bit of a "raise the bar" motif that pushed the tale into the ludicrous zone. The series started with no dragon having been seen for over 1000 years. Two appear before this book in the series. (one in book 4, one in book 5.5) This tale adds 3 more dragons, although only one gets any real depth to him. We also see more fighting at and around the secret Iskandia mines where Sardelle was.

It makes for an interesting, but extremely chaotic story. It's still worth the read, but... I felt it could have been less chaotic and still moved the plot along. But that's just me.
